Programs and activities:

Ongoing programs: Cuso International is an international development organization committed to eradicating poverty and inequality around the world. We work in 21 countries on four continents: Africa, South East Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as with our Indigenous partners in Northern Canada. By collaborating with local partners and citizens, for close to 60 years, we have delivered sustainable development results that respond to communities' immediate needs. Our programs are focused on three priorities: harnessing the power of volunteerism to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, advancing gender equality through the empowerment of women and girls, and improving access to and quality of, economic opportunities for young people.

New programs: In 2018-19, Cuso International developed important new bilateral partnerships and enhanced existing ones to advance our programs, reaching 4,147,301 individuals. In Colombia and Nigeria, in partnership with the United nations High Commissioner for Refugees, we are supporting refugees and community members through targeted skills training. In Peru, with the support of GAC, Cuso is bringing four leading women's organizations together to strengthen the national feminist, women's and girls' movement. In Honduras, we are enhancing inclusive and environmentally sustainable economic development for poor and vulnerable communities. And our new project in Benin will help girls, community leaders, health and education professionals fight female genital mutilation and gender-based violence.
