Programs and activities:

Ongoing programs: Owner of six properties plus one easement for a total of 481 acres of land. Stewardship activities include maintenance and enhancement of areas, including upkeep of trails. The Outdoor Education Centre is leased to the Peterborough Kawartha District School Board for outdoor education classes and an outdoor consultant is provided by the board. Lecture Series are offered during the winter months to promote the local land trust activities and to educate citizens on environmental topics encouraging participation and protection of all aspects of nature including wildlife and birds. We also continue annual Birdathons to identify numbers and species of birds on six of our sites.

New programs: Continued stewardship of all NLT properties, including burns, trail maintenance, removal of invasive species of plants and trees, speci identification and support for birds, insects. flora, fauna, and wildlife with initiatives to encourage and expand their sustainability at all sites. Continue negotiations and acquisition of new sites based upon their natural significance. Host lecture series for education and to create awareness of environmental issues and ways to support groups working towards sustainability for our climate
