Ongoing programs: 1. Campus Calgary 'Healthy Living' School sponsored by Cenovus Energy in partnership with both Calgary school boards. 444 students, 436 volunteers and 22 teachers engaged in experiential in the community. 2. Fee Assistance program supported over 1,500 children, youth and adults to participate in active living opportunities. With Canadian Tire Jumpstart over 120 children participated in recreation programs. 3. The Play Ambassadors launched in parks and green spaces in north-central Calgary. Over 2016, Play Ambassadors engaged 1,200 kids, youth and parents in outdoor, spontaneous play. Observations when Play Ambassadors were present showed a 60% increase in movement. 4. The Child and Youth Action Research Project has shifted into a 7-year longitudinal study of Vivo's 4 in 1 Physical Literacy Program. In 2016, participants started the second year study. Evaluation demonstrated a 6% increase in movement and a 24% movement increase from traditional recreation programming. 5. The New You (previously Healthy You) program continued at Vivo with a follow-up program Elevate You piloted in 2016. Both of these programs have demonstrated the ability to build the confidence and competence of adults to live healthier lives.

New programs: 6. Launch of Generation Healthy (Gen H) - In January 2016 Vivo launched our Generation Healthy video and movement. Gen H is not a generation we are born into, it is a generation we choose to join. You join by being active in your community, in your family, your workplace and in your life. Joining Gen H means putting our hearts and minds into becoming a truly healthier generation. The video was the first step in a long-term strategy to help Calgarians and Canadians be happier, healthier and connected everyday. 7. Vivo awarded its first Gen H Award at Notre Dame High School. This award is given to a Grade 12 student who embodies living a healthy life and is an advocate and support for helping others do the same. 8. Vivo worked with partners to increase accessibility to healthy living to vulnerable individuals. This included supporting residents of Fort McMurray through free access to its facility while they were staying in Calgary during the wildfires and hosting a skate for Syrian refugees in partnership with the RCMP, KidSport, Calgary Police Services, Calgary Catholic Immigration Society and the Muslim Council of Calgary.
