Ongoing programs: In response to global challenges that consistently worsen the situation, the fight against acute malnutrition has moved to the forefront of Action Against Hunger activities. While still pursuing its traditional work as a first responder humanitarian agency, the organization has also progressively expanded its mandate in the light of these new challenges and needs. Action Against Hunger has continued its integrated nutrition work in over 50 countries around the world and we continue to respond and prepare for emergencies (such as epidemics, natural disasters, conflicts) and as well as work on disaster prevention and mitigate their impact. Action Against Hunger programs also sustainably eliminate hunger through early detection, treatment, mitigation and prevention of acute malnutrition. - Nutrition programs for the treatment and prevention of acute malnutrition among young children ( under five years of age) and women who are pregnant or nursing as they are the most vulnerable members of the local communities; - Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) programs addressing the root causes of hunger through preventative measurers and provide the means to fight hunger, while protecting and restoring livelihoods; - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) programs providing safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services to vulnerable communities in order to sustain general livelihoods and tackle water-related diseases that contribute to acute malnutrition; - Mental Health and Care Prac

New programs: Action Against Hunger launched new Health Systems Strengthening development programmes in Guatemala, Kenya and Afghanistan and addressed the following emergencies through programming: Nigeria, Yemen, Iraq, Haiti, Somalia, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Congo, Philippines, and Columbia.
