Programs and activities:

Ongoing programs: Global hunger continues to raise, affecting 821 million in the last year, including approximately 200 million undernourished children. Acute food insecurity and famine remains a looming threat in six countries. However, Action Against Hunger firmly asserts that hunger and undernutrition are preventable. Recognized as a world leader in the fight against malnutrition, Action Against Hunger continues to bring to bear its 40 years of expertise in humanitarian and development programming to take up the mantle to end life-threating hunger, and its root causes. While still pursuing its traditional work as a first responder humanitarian agency, Action Against Hunger has also progressively expanded its mandate to better respond to growing challenges and needs, including those related to climate change and gender inequality. Action Against Hunger has continued its integrated nutrition work in more than 48 countries around the world, providing comprehensive solutions to global hunger that are context-specific, needs-based, and customized through direct community participation. We continue to prepare for, and respond to, emergencies (such as epidemics, natural disasters, conflicts, and chronic food insecurity) and to mitigate the harmful impact on families and children, while strengthening disaster prevention. Action Against Hunger programs also aim to sustainably eliminate hunger through early detection, treatment, mitigation, and prevention of acute malnutrition.

New programs: Expansion of the SMART Methodology in the Middle East with a focus on strengthening nutrition coordination mechanisms and enhancing government and partner capacity on SMART survey assessments and response planning. This included a particular focus on enhancing nutrition response capacity in Yemen. Exploration of innovative digital solutions t o provide more precise, less costly detection and tracking of malnutrition, but also the opportunity to leverage quality data to improve humanitarian preparedness and response. Action Against Hunger also addressed the following humanitarian emergencies; Niger, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Somalia, eight counties across Africa's Shael Region, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine, and Columbia
