Programs and activities:

Ongoing programs: Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC) is a relief and development organization that delivers health and hope to the world's most vulnerable people. We are dedicated to increasing access to medicine and improving health in the developing world without discrimination through the provision of essential medicines & medical supplies, pharmaceutical management and logistics, and capacity-building projects. In the 2014 calendar year, HPIC provided an estimated 1,891,666 treatments to vulnerable communities in 62 countries. HPIC supports Canadian doctors and medical mission teams through our Physician Travel Pack and Special Physician Request Programs. We also provide emergency medical relief to communities in crisis. Our Community Health Projects are in partnership with other organizations to supply bulk essential medicines and supplies to clinics and hospitals in developing countries. The health of mothers and newborns is being addressed by our latest program, the Mother-Child Health Kit. The MCH Kit is designed to help mothers and babies survive pregnancy, childbirth and the post-partum period. HPIC also works on projects that build capacity of the pharmaceutical supply chain, such as the multi-year Afghanistan project which ended in June 2014. HPIC's mission runs on volunteer power. Last year 1,299 volunteer hours were offered at our distribution centre for packing medical relief supplies. Every $1 donated to HPIC delivers at least $10 of medical relief.

New programs: HPIC is also working to develop some new projects with partners. HPIC is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2015. It has been able to deliver health and hope to more than 100 countries thanks to a robust network of mission partners and more than 70 active donor companies in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry
