Ongoing programs: Frontier College is Canada's original literacy organization. Founded in 1899, we recruit and train volunteers to deliver literacy programs to children, youth and adults in the communities where help is needed most. In 2017-18, approximately 2,500 volunteers were recruited and trained to become tutors in homework clubs, one-to-one tutoring, reading buddies, indigenous summer camps and library reading circles. Other programs include literacy upgrading, GED preparation courses, computer skills training and virtual learning programs.
