Programs and activities:

Ongoing programs: 1. Save BC Wolves- Our goal is to ensure that wolves have adequate habitat to continue their critical role as a keystone species. 2. Protect Pacific Herring- We are working with central coast communities to highlight the importance of herring while also advocating for an end to the unsustainable kill fishery so that stocks can rebuild and a locally-based spawn on kelp fishery can flourish. 3. Marine Protection -Industrial shipping, fishing pressure, forest destruction, net pen salmon farms and climate change all threaten to destabilize the coastal ecosystem of the of the Great Bear Rainforest. Strong marine protection and Indigenous governance are needed to protect marine life from overexploitation and damage. 4. Protect Wild Salmon- Wild Salmon are the foundation of the Great Bear Rainforest ecosystem. Our unsustainable relationship with wild salmon has to stop. Pacific Wild works towards finding solutions for the future of wild salmon.
