Ongoing programs: THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF MEDICINE HAT AND SOUTHEASTERN ALBERTA (CFSEA) IS COMMITTED TO GROWING A PERMANENT LEGACY WHICH STRENGTHENS THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN SOUTHEASTERN ALBERTA. WE DO THIS BY 1. WORKING WITH DONORS TO ASSIST THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR PHILANTRHROPIC GOALS; 2. MAKING GRANTS TO LOCAL QUALIFIED DONEES; 3. CONVENING COMMUNITY TO BUILD PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS TO ADDRESS EMERGING ISSUES AND THEREBY ENSURE OUR REGIONAL AREA CONTINUES TO BE A STRONG, THRIVING AND HEALTHY COMMUNITY., WE ACHIEVE THESE ROLES THROUGH A NUMBER OF ONGOING PROGRAMS SUCH AS LEGACY PARTNERSHIP TO CREATE AND BUILD PERMANENT ENDOWMENTS, WITH TWO ANNUAL GRANT MAKING CYCLES AND A PROACTIVE GRANTS PROGRAM CALLED VITAL IMPACT. IN ADDITION, VITAL SIGNS IS A COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL QUALITY OF LIFE REPORT THAT PROVIDES THE FOUNDATION AND OUR COMMUNITY WITH A HUGE AMOUNT OF LOCAL KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION. IN ACHIEVING THESE ROLES AND PROGRAMS THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IS GRATEFUL FOR THE HUNDREDS OF HOURS PROVIDED BY OUR DEDICATED BOARD MEMBERS AND COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS. CFSEA HAS ALSO IMPLEMENTED COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS. THE COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE CENTRE IS A WEB BASED TOOL THAT PROVIDES INFORMATION ABOUT CHARITIES TO AID DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS IN THEIR DECISIONS ABOUT PROVIDING SUPPORT. THE FOUNDATION IS THE BACKBONE ORGANIZATION FOR A COMMUNITY COLLABORATION COUNCIL THAT PRESENTS A BIENNIAL COMMUNITY CONFERENCE. RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY BRINGS TOGETHER THOUSANDS OF VOLUNTEERS WHO UNDERTAKE ACT OF KINDNESS WHICH WHEN COMBINED WITH THE PAY-IT-FORWARD CONCEPT RESULTS IN THIS PROGRAM AFFECTING THE MAJORITY OF OUR COMMUNITY. BOARD LEADERSHIP PROVIDES LOCAL CHARITIES WITH WORKSHOPS THAT ENHANCES KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GOVERNANCE, FINANCE AND OTHER RELATED MATTERS.
