Ongoing programs:
IODE provides scholarships, bursaries and awards to students at all educational levels. It recognizes authors of children's literature with annual juried awards. It recognizes members of police services for their voluntary contributions to youth development in their communities. It supplies educational materials and recreation equipment to schools, camps, and seniors' facilities. It provides books to students, libraries, and community centres encouraging literacy for people of all ages. It supplies clothing and food to schools in Northern Ontario, Labrador and elsewhere in Canada where need is apparent. It provides needy individuals with food, clothing, household goods and personal care products. Members also volunteer their time to assist other in their local communities.
