Ongoing programs: Canadian Feed The Children is an international development and relief agency formed in 1986. The charity works with local partners internationally and with Indigenous communities across Canada to deliver community-led food security, livelihoods, education, health and partnership capacity strengthening programs. These include: 1) Food sovereignty initiatives in partnership with Indigenous nations in Canada 2) Gender equality programs supporting girls’ health and education and women’s livelihoods 3) Climate-adaptive and market-led agricultural business incubation that boost agricultural production and income 4) Community resilience building, enabling families and communities to withstand climate and other stressors for long-term, sustainable economic development

New programs: In 2020 new programs include: 1. Slaight Livelihood and Gender Equality Fund to help end forced migration of women and girls in the Amhara region of Ethiopa, with our existing partners CHADET and the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN) 2. CLIMATE project in Ghana to enhance access to and integrate climate information into practices of smallholder farmers, in partnership with RAINS Ghana, TradeAID, TUDRIDEP, and Farm Radio International 3. PEERS project to improve access to accurate information about sexual reproductive health and rights and sexual gender based violence for at risk youth in Uganda.
