Ongoing programs:
Islamic Relief Canada carries out humanitarian and development programs in over 30 countries. Programs include: • Livelihoods focused on climate-adaptive support and/or economic empowerment; • Health including water, sanitation, and hygiene activities, primary health care services and, in some cases, secondary and tertiary services or referrals; • Food and nutrition focused on access to adequate and nutritious food through cash programming, gardening, and food distributions including through seasonal programs (e.g. food packs during Ramadan, meat packets during Qurbani and Aqeeqah) as well as targeted support for individuals facing moderate to severe acute malnutrition; • Protection focused on community-based approaches and psycho-social support services; • Education focused on increasing enrollment such as through stipends for girls education, the provision of educational material to individuals and schools, and the development of safe learning environments; • Shelter focused on providing safe and dignified living spaces, particularly post-disaster; • Cash assistance for orphan sponsorship
