Ongoing programs: OVER THE PAST YEAR, OXFAM CANADA CONTINUED TO IMPLEMENT ITS WORK IN SUPPORT OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS AND GENDER EQUALITY IN A NUMBER OF COUNTRIES. IT CONTINUED SUPPORTING INITIATIVES TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS IN AFGHANISTAN, CUBA, BANGLADESH, INDIA, INDONESIA, NEPAL, PHILIPPINES AND PAKISTAN. IT COMPLETED A 4 YEAR INITIATIVE TO INCREASE WOMEN'S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION IN INDONESIA, AS WELL AS AN INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE AND IMPROVE WOMEN AND YOUNG GIRLS' SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS (SRHR) IN THE PHILIPPINES AND IN 4 COUNTRIES IN AFRICA (ETHIOPIA, MALAWI, MOZAMBIQUE AND ZAMBIA). IT CONTINUED SUPPORTING ITS WOMEN VOICE AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM IN PAKISTAN AND ITS WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVES FOR INDIGENOUS WOMEN IN GUATEMALA AND BANGLADESH.

New programs: OXFAM CANADA LAUNCHED ONE NEW VOICE AND LEADERSHIP INITIATIVES IN GUATEMALA PROMOTING GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN'S PARTICIPATION IN THE NATIONAL INDIGENOUS WOMEN'S MOVEMENT. TOWARDS THE END OF MARCH 2020, OXFAM CANADA INITIATED A RANGE OF ACTIONS TO SUPPORT LOCAL PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS IN ADDRESSING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN MOST OF THE COUNTRIES OF PROGRAMMING. LASTLY, DURING THIS YEAR, OXFAM CANADA PROVIDED SUPPORT TO EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROGRAMS IN MOZAMBIQUE IN RESPONSE TO THE IDAI CYCLONE, IN BANGLADESH TO SUPPORT ROHINGYA REFUGEES AND IN TANZANIA TO SUPPORT BURUNDIAN REFUGEES. THESE INITIATIVES PROVIDED WATER, SANITATION, LIVELIHOODS AND PROTECTION SUPPORT TO THOSE AFFECTED BY CRISIS AND SUDDEN ONSET NATURAL DISASTERS, PARTICULARLY WOMEN AND GIRLS.
