CLIENTS INCLUDE WOMEN AND CHILDREN LEAVING SHELTERS, THE FORMERLY HOMELESS, INDIGENOUS, AND NEWCOMERS AND REFUGEES TO CANADA. FURNITURE REMOVAL, REPAIR AND REUSE SOCIAL INNOVATION PROGRAMS PROVIDE THE FUNDING AND FURNISHINGS TO END FURNITURE POVERTY WHILE KEEPING GOOD FURNITURE OUT OF LANDFILLS. THE ORGANIZATION'S SOCIAL HIRE PROGRAMS, WORKS WITH EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES AND PARTNERS TO PROVIDE WORK EXPERIENCE, LIFE AND SKILLS TRAINING, AND MEANINGFUL JOB OPPORTUNITIES TO NEWCOMERS TO CANADA, YOUTH, AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS FACING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. ITS SOCIAL HIRE PARTICIPANTS ARE EMBEDDED IN ALL ROLES, INCLUDING POSITIONS WITHIN THE WAREHOUSE, TRUCKING, REPAIR WORKSHOP, FAMILY SERVICES AN FURNITURE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES. FURNITURE BANK ALSO SUPPORTS OTHER ORGANIZATIONS WITH SIMILAR FURNITURE POVERTY MISSIONS, WITH SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THEIR PROGRAM ACROSS CANADA - INCLUDING RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND COORDINATION TO CREATE SOLUTIONS FOR FURNITURE POVERTY IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS CANADA.
